I am a HUGE fan of Nissin noodles. I buy them in cases and occasionally dream about them. Anyways, this trip was more of a ‘pilgrimage’ to Nissin. Just a little bit of history here. Mr Momofuku Ando 安藤 百福 1910-2007, invented THE chicken instant noodle (Chikin ramen チキンラーメン) in 1958. This revolutionised the world – quick meal to treat hungry salary men of Japan, inspiration to space travel meal, the benchmark for noodle preservation technology. The ultimate solution to long nights of gaming, of course. The museum housed the replica of the original kitchen where Mr Ando created the first instant noodle. Right next to the Takachiho Gorge there were some intriguing food stalls. At this place, ‘you snooze or you lose’ had a new meaning.
