Fête de la Musique 2017 Paris! What a blast! What’s better than 1700 bands playing on the streets and a bunch of drunk Parisians?
City Pharma is the mecca of French drugstore cosmetic haul here in Paris. Crowd is a very serious issue. The whole of Paris is in the store by 11h00 even on a week day.
Under 4000 people commune in Loire Atlantique, western France. Yes, it’s small. It’s like walking in real life Beauty and the Beast though. All that classic old French town springs to life. This is a quiet town. Nothing is jumping out, but it is just so pleasant to stroll around. Fantastic escape from city life!
I love pho! There’s magic in the Vietnamese broth and the wonders of rice noodles. After ‘phorathon’ in 13eme, here’s favourite and my worst.
Food porn alert. Beautiful local food from the middle of no where. If you visit Vannes, be sure to check this place out. Found this place north of Vannes in Brittany. So worth the 15min drive to no where. Crazy talented husband and wife team (just the 2 of them). They only use local ingredients and that includes even their flour. AMAZING food and service.
That ‘disappearing’ path thing is not unique to Mount St Michel in France. Here in St Malo, the ‘island’ is a lot smaller and there are no hotels/restaurants on it… there’s no body on it. Fond memories of my drunken travel in France.
I’ve recently taken a killer cheap deal traveling with Ouigo train. It was only EUR15 one way from Paris to Nantes!!!! I have noticed a few things from my ride. Here’s what I’ve learnt.
Yey! Another ferry ride at Port Blanc. Love doing that. Baden was quite the spot for island hopping. The islands were wine & party ready, but in the French chic way (not Phi Phi, Thailand). The accuracy of what’s going on was sketchy, given that I only understood 30% of the time. This was part of my immersion French course.
There is actually nothing to do in this town, which is why it is so fabulous. Quietness like you never know. Think uninterrupted coast line, zero traffic and peaceful sleep.
Oui bus left me behind in Calais! Unforgettable! I had many travel war stories before, but this was a first ‘left behind’. This wasn’t entirely Ouibus’ fault though. There were many factors that created this mini-episode.
