Erm… does anyone else think that the hotel name is unnecessarily long? haha Here’s my review. Takachiho was an ancient town on the north of Miyazaki, Japan. Believed to be the holy ground where the Gods descended. So yeah, myths / legends and the bunch was born here. Well known for their breath-taking Takachiho Gorge, Kunimigaoka heavenly cloud hike and 1200+ years old shrine. The prefecture pamphlets tended to only show the Gorge, but their shrines could easily rival Izumo shrine – less crowds and older trees. !@&^$£?@ Got stung by this mint looking plant myself. Totally need to share with you all out there. My leg brushed past this plant and it felt as if my leg was burning. It is not poisonous, but hey, it hurts. The pain went away after a day. The whole plant has micro hairs to sting. Evil plant!!! Shurijo site is 1 of a 9 parts UNESCO site (Gusuku) in Okinawa. A rather unusual arrangement really, these 9 sites are scattered all over the prefecture and isn’t all next to each other.
