Grand Trianon is known for its pink marble corridor, The Peristyle, that links its 2 wings. The distance between the main palace and Grand Trianon is around 2km; it felt more like 3km walking in the “lovely” winter wind. There are some golf cart available so you won’t have to walk all the way, but hey, what’s the fun in that? 😛 This post was in draft mode for way too long. That was the 4th trip to Takamatsu, so I didn’t bother to do any research. 20min ferry ride later… Voila, we’re on Megijima 女木島, Island of the Ogres. Er… Where were the vending machines? Where were the convenient stores? Where were the people? The whole town is themed up to the spooky comedy manga, Gegege no Kitaro (ゲゲゲの鬼太郎). This manga series is a Japanese classic from the 1960s, drawn by Mr Shigeru Mizuki. The story line is based on… Walking around in Kumamoto City without any map… (lost) I had a bit of a ‘tottoro’ discovery moment. Wandering around aimlessly had much merit. In the middle of a concrete jungle, I came across this ‘tunnel’…
