Many branches have mini-onsens and are located near the train stations. Double bed rooms starts at JPY5,500! They have special rates for 30 days+ stays. (all love from me) What do they do when there’s no snow? Journalists are obsessed with their snowed up look. Without the snow, they do look less funny 😛 but hey, they are cute with or without the snow. Snow monkey is uniquely Japanese. They NATURALLY go for onsen baths in winter. This is their way to keep warm, well, and to get a red flush of colour for their faces. I was a solo female traveller. Yup, I hitch hiked 😛 After 5 consecutive failed cherry blossom trips, I decided to do something crazy… fly to Japan with the JR pass and just chase the blossoms. That means zero accommodation booking ahead of time. I traveled to wherever the news reported that the blossom was happening. This must be one of my most cherished memory 😀 What a town! Sand beach, pebble beach, fishing, rugged coastal line and coves… plus extraordinary wind (yes, surf is possible and no crocs / sharks). Probably not known outside of France, but it is a pretty popular summer vacation town near Pornic, Loire-Atlantique. Latest
