Located in the middle of Devil’s washboard in Miyazaki, Japan I don’t understand why this place got categorised as a hostel. I mean, just look at it. The place was over 100 years old. The facilities and ambiance was excellent. Plain hardcore value for money! Story time? Beauty of solo travel. This was not my brightest moment. Google map was wrong AND I landed up in a spot where there was no internet… Ryukyu was the old version word for Okinawa. This theme park recreated the times of Ryuku kingdom, a cultural type of theme park. It was small, so 2-3 hours was suffice, unless you decide to make your own pottery, glass or other local hand craft. The park was very Japanese, not much English happens here. Well, I was there in April, off peak. The staff were incredibly friendly and very proactive in welcoming guests.… I was a solo female traveller. Yup, I hitch hiked 😛 After 5 consecutive failed cherry blossom trips, I decided to do something crazy… fly to Japan with the JR pass and just chase the blossoms. That means zero accommodation booking ahead of time. I traveled to wherever the news reported that the blossom was happening. This must be one of my most cherished memory 😀Latest
