The feature photo says a lot, right? If you miss the old 80’s HK style like me, this place is it! Star Cafe 星座冰室, Hong Kong. What a fierce ambiance! This place turns back the clock! I had been eyeing Japanese knives since my first visit. So glad that I finally took the plunge and can finally call some of their ‘artwork’ my own. This little store was a TOTAL gem.… I don’t understand why this place got categorised as a hostel. I mean, just look at it. The place was over 100 years old. The facilities and ambiance was excellent. Plain hardcore value for money! I love tiny places 😀 I found this little home style store via reading a Japanese local paper. So glad that I persevered and found this place. I had been eyeing Japanese knives since my first visit. So glad that I finally took the plunge and can finally call some of their ‘artwork’ my own. This little store was a TOTAL gem. As a cooking enthusiast, this store visit is an orgasmic must do in Kyoto. LOVE cooking class!!! It’s a fabulous way of spending 3 hours cooking / stuffing face. Who’s excited about MSG-free dim sum? Need I say more? Beer tasting, beer history, how to make beer. It is all here in one place. Bonus: free entry! Besides the well thought out exhibitions and cosy environment, it is worth mentioning that they have a lovely selection of exotic ice cream. Surprise find was their salt & black pepper flavour ice cream!! Must do for any self respecting foodie. Such an intriguing flavour.Latest
