Welcome to paradise, West Indies France! So many beaches, so little time. Here are my top picks based on photogenic, walk/stroll, activities offering and snorkel quality.
Food porn alert. Beautiful local food from the middle of no where. If you visit Vannes, be sure to check this place out. Found this place north of Vannes in Brittany. So worth the 15min drive to no where. Crazy talented husband and wife team (just the 2 of them). They only use local ingredients and that includes even their flour. AMAZING food and service.
That ‘disappearing’ path thing is not unique to Mount St Michel in France. Here in St Malo, the ‘island’ is a lot smaller and there are no hotels/restaurants on it… there’s no body on it. Fond memories of my drunken travel in France.
Fun and games with food, but don’t joke. French will never joke about food 😉 Gallette des Rois is a traditional dessert ‘game’. There’s a hidden ‘toy’ of sort inside the cake. The person who ends up with the toy is the King. This is a traditional eat for the first New Year weekend; modern way: any time in January or even in December.
Beautiful beaches beyond believe! White fine sand, black sand, yellow sand… all on ONE island!!! Welcome to the French Caribbeans. Guadeloupe, the butterfly island 😀
Yey! Another ferry ride~~ Love doing that. Baden was quite the spot for island hopping. The islands were wine & party ready, but in the French chic way (not Phi Phi, Thailand). The accuracy of what’s going on was sketchy, given that I only understood 30% of the time. This was part of my immersion French course.
There is actually nothing to do in this town, which is why it is so fabulous. Quietness like you never know. Think uninterrupted coast line, zero traffic and peaceful sleep.
