Exotic is a word that is not enough for this place. Have you tried wattleseed or black sapote ice cream? I did not even know what those things were *LOL* This place is in the middle of no where. Like so no-where that there was no signal. This is a local-local business. They do local fruit flavoured ice cream (such a wonderful thing).

daintree-ice-cream-company-queensland-australia-7507.JPGNow, as exotic as it sounds, the presentation was a bit underwhelming. The ice cream was not freshly scoped when you make the purchase. It was pre-scooped and look pretty frozen. It does not look ‘fresh’ if you know what I mean? I do understand that given they’re in the middle of nowhere, they tends to be a quick stop for many tours. So perhaps it is for quicker logistic reasons that they pre-scope the ice cream.

They’re a cash only business! No cards.

  1. That’s kind of disappointing that the ice cream is pre-scooped? I know sometimes restaurants do this but that’s not their primary business. This ice cream shop only does ice cream! So uh, you didn’t tell us what flavours you got! Did you get the wattleseed and black sapote? And what did they taste like?

    • Ja, right. It was weird that they’re pre-scooped.

I got the wattleseed, passion fruit and the black sapote 😀 Can’t actually choose. It was all 3 or nothing.

Wattleseed tasted like coffee but smell like chocolate. It was not my favourite.

The black sapote was creamy and fruity-ish. It was a unique flavour, no idea how to discribe :9 I like the black sapote best out of the 3.

  2. Not at all *LOL* There were ROCK hard solid ice. *LOL* The 35 degrees Celcius temperature solved that issue very quickly 😉
