I am rather fond of skiing. You know, the graceful movement of ski and lovely landscape. The only bad part is that I am TERRIBLE at it. I fall very gracefully, regularly and move quickly out of the way. Is that good sportsmanship or what?
In any case, in the lovely French Alps with my spirit ran high, I decided to ski in the blue lane. Fantastic idea! Cruising along and enjoy the speed… BOOM, SPLAT… crashed into the service station. I was not hurt and not that scared. That was my 10th+ crash of the day; that was nothing compare to splatting into a tree. So I really wasn’t that faced by it. I displaced all the poles and flags though. The station Frenchman was not amused to say the least.
He ran out to help me (so sweet) and started to ask me a whole bunch of things in French. ?!?!?!?! I didn’t understand a word that was going on. I spoke English to him and he looked blank too. Anyway, he seemed to be less stressed out when he could see that I could move and ski like a duck. *Yes, duck does not ski and hence I ski like a duck
After that, I promptly moved back to the children’s lane where I belong.
I thoroughly enjoyed the ski at this place. It was quiet, well maintained and not crowded. The ski operator was helpful and some of them spoke English. 🙂 I will be back.
O, on the sharing side. Do not trust Scandinavians when they tell you that they don’t ski well. When they say that they don’t ski well, it means that they are unsure about their wild ski skills. Scandi 5 years old child ski in the red lane?!? I know that stereo type and generalisation is not good, but I haven’t yet met a Scandi that actually cannot ski. The children ski better than me 🙁 I am just jealous.
