It was a city get away that I highly cherished. Stunning experience! It was just a train ride away in London zone 6 rail. This was 45min cave tour lead by a wonderful guide / actor / entertainer, Peter. He sang, bellowed and whispered stories of druids, people and ghost that stayed in this same cave. In the darkness, let the imagination ran wild…
The castle ground was ENORMOUS. The crowd was equally huge -_- even on a week day. Welcome to the British Royal Home, Windsor Castle.
That was the 4th trip to Takamatsu, so I didn’t bother to do any research. 20min ferry ride later… Voila, we’re on Megijima 女木島, Island of the Ogres. Er… Where were the vending machines? Where were the convenient stores? Where were the people?
This beautiful day trip kicked off from the scenic train ride. Check this view from the train… (20min ride from Hakodate) Onuma Quasi national Park, Nanae – 大沼公園, 七飯町 I loved this park. It was HUGE and plenty of paths to get lost in the woods. The lake was the central feature, even a wanderer like me couldn’t get completely lost.
Beautiful town – beach, great seafood and flat landscape perfect for bicycle ride. Skagen, Northern tip of Denmark. This was a day trip from Goteborg. Hopped onto the Stena line – Goteborg to Fredrikshamn (3hr 15min ). Stena line was a large ferry with entertainment, restaurant, bar, souvenir shop and tax free booze. Swedish Government had monopoly over alcohol (Systembolaget), so needless to say, booze was expensive. Stena line was THE solution to cheap booze for any Swede. **I found some children playing the slots machine… It was apparently quite acceptable. I was flabbergasted by the sight. I am legally not allowed to publish the child’s photo, but I swear I was stunned.
Went to this water town with my ex-boss and husband as my farewell 🙂 I am a lucky girl, my boss and colleagues were all sweethearts. This is only a 90min drive from downtown Shanghai. Great for a get away from the urban jungle. Note, this is not an escape from the crowds. This is still China with its 1.4 billion people.
