Pain Daigo – Minamiaso, Japan

Easy to over look this little patch of delightful things. French – Japanese fusion artisan bread store in a middle of no where. Lucky for me, I found it LOL. Honestly did not expect to find bread in a clearly rice dominate farm area. It was a good break to non-stop rice dishes. This store only used local Kumamoto flour 😀 support local farms.

This humble store was on the way to the long distance bus! Perfect for some snacks on your way out of town or cure fresh bake itch.

Think: Melon bread, Almond croissant, Sakura bread, Curry bread, Aubergine tart, Sausage bread with Japanese cheese… etc

Truth be told, I got a bit weary from travelling that day. Perhaps this 30+ here was a bit aged for serial travelling. Was so happy to find a place where I can just chilled and did nothing but binge eating. Fresh bread and tatami seating! What else could I have asked for? I rolled around on that tatami and was doing nothingness. LOL.

Happiness was so easy. Just needed to decide when to feel happy. With some comfort food, I was on my way.

This was a long haul 3 weeks trip, I had my Surface Pro3 with me. I love that it doesn’t need any adapter for micro-SD card, has a USB port and touch screen. One of the items that I felt my money was well spent. It was time for a dose of PC gaming WAHAHAHA.

Nerding off for now. Till next time 😉

Still want to see more of this cute bakery? I found a Youtube video (I did not film this)

Closed every Wednesday and sometimes when the weather is not good (seriously). Check their site / call in before visiting. It is next door to the Konoka onsen / or 5~10min walk from Little Asia Guesthouse *I am quite sure it was supposed to take 5min, but I was always distracted by cats or other photo distractions. You can find out exactly how to get here via either Konoka onsen or Where I stayed in MinamiAso post.

P.S.

I do write and stall my posts. I am not in Kumamoto region right now. Thank you all for the caring messages. Minamiaso village is 30km from Mashiki.
