Konokayu 木の香湯, also known as Kugino Onsen 久木野温泉 was located in the southern Aso village. Quick 5min walk from where I stayed Little Asia guesthouse (previous post). It was such a great stop for the evening after hikes or a long day of walking around.
This was not a mixed bath (men & women bath naked together; konyu 混湯 Konyoyu). There will be a separate post on the infamous mix bath Sukayu 酸ヶ湯, ‘1000 people’ bath; which I went via hitch hiking. Another story another time.

It was probably a good thing that I didn’t know about the celebrity status of this restaurant prior to the visit. I had no expectation and knew no hype. It was just a meet up with an old friend. In fact, I suggested let’s do Mc Donald *LOL* I just wanted to hang out.
Besides the regular a la carte, on the menu… the chef can cook anything (LOVE & SHOUTOUT!!!). I love restaurants with this level of confidence. I have been to this restaurant multiple times. This Bangladeshi restaurant rocks! I guess I really should share this.
The original dish name was Filets de Poisson en Écailles Croustillantes. This mouthful name of a dish was the actual name. lol. The quickest that I’ve ever completed this dish was 1.5 hours. Got to love cooking to do this & I LOVE this dish 😉 Here is the recipe to recreate Paul Bocuse’s signature dish at home.
