French 101: how to Raclette?

No matter how popular this ‘activity’ is in France. It was actually of Swiss origin. The just of raclette is… eat as much melted cheese as humanly possible. Welcome to my new series about how to integrate better in France! I hope this series will capture my journey as a new immigrant here in Paris.

Recipe: Potatoe scale fish by Paul Bocuse

The original dish name was Filets de Poisson en Écailles Croustillantes. This mouthful name of a dish was the actual name. lol. The quickest that I’ve ever completed this dish was 1.5 hours. Got to love cooking to do this & I LOVE this dish 😉 Here is the recipe to recreate Paul Bocuse’s signature dish at home.

Udon school – Kagawa, Japan 中野うどん学校, 香川県

Nakano udon school 中野うどん学校 is located in Kotohira 琴平町, just outside of Takamatsu 高松市. This small town has it all going – shrine, onsen and lots of sanuki udon eateries. Kotohira is mainly known for its shrine, Kompirasan daigongen 金刀比羅宮… in short, it is the shrine with a 785 steps hike (people are so faithful). I will write about this shrine later. For now, it is all about the udon making experience. The class is in 100% Japanese, but the teacher is well experienced in body language; no problem at all 🙂 The chef goes on to explain how to make the dough and the saline solution.

Edible, but evil – Ortie, France

!@&^$£?@ Got stung by this mint looking plant myself. Totally need to share with you all out there. My leg brushed past this plant and it felt as if my leg was burning. It is not poisonous, but hey, it hurts. The pain went away after a day. The whole plant has micro hairs to sting. Evil plant!!!
