This Victoria cemetery has been around since 1840. It is the perfect serene escape from the busy London life. While it does not have a crowd of famous tombs, it is certainly more cemetery like that the camera blazing Highgate cemetery. Plus, this is a freebie to visit.
There are 2 of NGV in Melbourne – NGV Australia and NGV international. Combining both will make the post painfully long. For this post, let’s look at NGV Australia together. Let’s begin our journey by stating clearly that I’m not an artsy person. I have an intensely hard time understanding arts. The history part isn’t the problem. It is normally the feeling part?
I walked along the coast from Palm Cove to Clifton Beach, it was a ‘stunningness’ walk. The mesmerising coastline, fine sand, captivating Aussie men (I started to believe that lots of Aussie men possess the Thor genes)… Amazing view all around lol. One way walk was 2.8km. Stunningness!! (free to do) 2 beaches and a stroll all in one 😀
The weather was not working with me that day, but it did not diminish this beauty. Kairakuen is one of the official top 3 gardens of Japan. What criteria do they use to derive this? I do not know 😛 It is an official title though, Kairakuen is one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan (日本三名園 Nihon Sanmeien). The other 2 are Korakuen of Okayama and Kenrokuen of Kanazawa.
Essentially, this place was swamped with the artwork from the Harry Potter movie and a few other collections by Minalima. This was a freebie. Zero entrance fee and something fun to see. This place was within 2 min walk from the Harry Potter cursed child theatre.
I have lived in this hood for about 9 months. Things are already getting quite ‘stale’ lol. One day, I decided to fresh things up and take a different route. Voila, lost *lol*. It took me an additional 30min to get home, but hey, eventually I got home. Anyhow, this has now become a habit.
Work day can start as early as 6h00 if one wishes e.g. so that one can leave work at 14h00 to pick up kids. At least, the company that I worked for was like that. The following collection of pictures were taken over the course of the same day.
Romantic patch this one. Let’s walk around through my lens, shall we?
This beautiful day trip kicked off from the scenic train ride. Check this view from the train… (20min ride from Hakodate)
Onuma Quasi national Park, Nanae – 大沼公園, 七飯町 I loved this park. It was HUGE and plenty of paths to get lost in the woods. The lake was the central feature, even a wanderer like me couldn’t get completely lost.
Walking around in Kumamoto City without any map… (lost) I had a bit of a ‘tottoro’ discovery moment. Wandering around aimlessly had much merit. In the middle of a concrete jungle, I came across this ‘tunnel’…
